Aside from developing many exciting applications for OS X we are developing software on many platforms and licensing technology to many companies in the audio and video markets. We specialize in Digital Signal Processing applications for all industries and in all kinds of data acquisition and analysis application development.

OSXTools' founder and CTO, Stephan Bernsee, is the creator of many innovative products you may know or use, such as the (now discontinued) sonicWORX audio editing software, the Prosoniq range of plug ins including the OrangeVocoder, Prosoniq morph and Magenta and the basic technology behind the Hartmann Music <Neuron> synthesizer. He has developed the Timefactory time stretching products for Prosoniq which are used in almost all of todays major software products such as Cubase, Nuendo, Cakewalk, Pyramix and many more. He has recently developed a new time stretching/pitch shifting technology called DIRAC, now used to guarantee unprecedented quality DSP processing in the Smoke and Fire products of Discreet/Autodesk and upcoming products from other companies.

Many of our successful products are cross platform and reach tens of thousands of users. However, we feel that a cross platform application is always a smallest common denominator of all the platforms that it supports. Our philosophy at OSXTools is to take advantage of the exciting Apple Macintosh platform for developing new cutting edge technoloy, on and specifically designed for MacOS X. At OSXTools you will find no Macintosh ports of Windows software, and no compromises in order to stay cross-platform. We do not think that MacOS X is ultimately superior to other operating systems, but we think that developing specifically for this operating system makes our applications superior to others.
